SEVEN QUESTIONS

I just thought it would be fun to get to know you a little better. I found these seven questions and I hope youn's will play.

1) Does your name have a meaning behind it?
If so, what is it?

2) If you were paint on an artist's pallet,
what color would you be?

3) Who is your favorite artist and why?

4) What word or phrase do you overuse?

5) If the world was only filled with animals,
what animal would you be and why?

6) who is the smartest person you have ever met?

7) What's a fashion trend you followed and
now you wish you hadn't?

Ok, I guess it is only fair that if I want you to answer my questions I should go first.

1) Yes
Rebel is a nickname. When I was a senior in high school, it was the last year
the draft was in effect and I received a notice that I was to register for the draft after my 18th birthday. It was addressed to me and they made out my name to be 'Rebel'. That's when friends started calling me that.

2) I would be green.

3) I guess artist could also mean music artist but my favorite artist artist is
Norman Rockwell.
I love the way he depicts American life so realistically.

4) I have 3 phrases I use too often. Ok, now and that's funny.

5) A horse.
They are so beautiful and wild. I've always loved horses. Also I was born in
the year of the horse.

6) I know it probably sounds dorky but my husband is the smartest person I have ever met. I mean he really is smart. Not just knowledge smart but that man got good common sense. I've known other really book smart people that were down right stupid.

7) Probably ratting my hair. When I see pictures of myself like that I just want
to hurl.

Okay, now do you know me better? Now you need to answer the questions, it's only fair. How funny.

Nope. Just Jodi!

2) If you were paint on an artist's pallet, what color would you be?
Probably blue because to me it represents a lot of what is in nature...sky, water,...

3) Who is your favorite artist and why?
Now I don't feel so cultured! I think I can appreciate art, but I don't have a specific artist or genre that I prefer. A musical artist? I really, really like Josh Groban

4) What word or phrase do you overuse?
Um...

5) If the world was only filled with animals,
what animal would you be and why?
I am struggling with this one! I would love to be an eagle and soar in the wind. I'd love to be a dolphin and playfully swim in the blue waters. And yet, I'd also love to be a cat and just be able to sleep all day! ha

6) who is the smartest person you have ever met?
I have a college friend that I think is super smart. She's also a great creative writer and I enjoy her letters so much. They always make me laugh.

7) What's a fashion trend you followed and now you wish you hadn't?

I've always been a little shy with the trends. Still can't think of anything! Maybe my brain is a little tired right now since I'm up a little late AGAIN! :)

I see the Muse stays up late too. Are we just night owls or is the only spare alone time we have in the wee hours of the mornin'?
Muse, you've got me wanderin' where 'bouts you from? I asked my husband this mornin' what phrase I say too much and he said, "I reckon!" That's funny.

I think it is both...LOL night owl and solitude..a double whammy of sorts :)

You are in the Ozarks...I ride along the trails of the Appalachians and Alleghenies, more often than not !

That is indeed quite funny about your husband's insight LOL LOL...

Wow, glad I came to your blog, it's a great way to see in the evening hours, I reckon...LOL

Oh Rebel I love that 10 Commandments you put up!

Okay here we go...
1) Does your name have a meaning behind it? If so, what is it?

I was raised Catholic and my mama gave me my first and middle names from both of my grandmas. As far as what Mary means, well, it depends on where you look. It can mean anything from star of the sea, to wished for child, to rebellion, or sea of sorrow or bitterness. I always remember associating it with sorrow - isn't that awful?? I'm sure if my mama had known that, she woulda chose somethin' different. I never really had a nickname though the boys in school used to call me M & M because that was my initials. Or maybe they thought I was sweet or melty??

2) If you were paint on an artist's pallet, what color would you be?

The color blue. I grew up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and have very often sat on the seawall in Biloxi to watch the sunset (or sometimes watch the sunrise after a late night out) Blue reminds me of the colors of the sea and the sky and I find it a very soothing color. Green would be my second choice.

3) Who is your favorite artist and why?

Don’t have one because I’m not a collector of art but if I were I am so fortunate to live in a place where there is an abundance of local painters, photographers and potters to choose from. One of the best showcases is the annual Peter Anderson Art Festival that is held every year. There are usually about 300 vendors and the crowds are getting crazy, but there is the most beautiful stuff for sale there. Anything from paintings, to drawings, to pottery, to jewelry, you name it. If I’m looking for a unique Christmas gift, that’s where I go.

4) What word or phrase do you overuse?

I have a lot of them because I tend to pick them up real easily from other people so I’d have to ask my hubs if he can pinpoint any. “It is what it is,” has become a common one here lately. I think that came out of Katrina.

5) If the world was only filled with animals, what animal would you be and why?

A cat. Big wild cat or house cat, it doesn’t matter. They are independent, full of attitude, mysterious and sexy.

6) who is the smartest person you have ever met?

Hands down my dad. He’s passed on now, but my dad was a computer whiz before desktop computers even existed. He could draw anything, never had a lesson. He could pick up any musical instrument and play any song by ear. Never had a lesson, could not read music. He was a mathematical genius. He understood electrical circuitry and could wire an entire house, never learned that from anyone. Dad could read about something and become an instant expert. I've never met anybody as smart as him.

7) What's a fashion trend you followed and now you wish you hadn't?

I am a child of the 70s, so I guess I about followed them all. Can't really say that I regret any of them, though the big hair phase was probably pretty crazy. I got a perm right after I had my son and talk about BIG hair. With curls. I have to laugh every time I see that picture. Course the big hair thing could mostly be a southern thing.
